Pepino dal 1884

Description

In 1884 Domenico Pepino ice cream maker moves his business from Naples to Torino and opens an ice cream laboratory ("Vera Gelateria Napoletana"  read the sign) that in a short time, thanks to the quality of the raw materials and the originality of the recipes, manages to break through the difficult Savoy palates.
(Pepino is the oldest ice cream parlor in Europe still in business and among the oldest in the world)

Pepino shows great initiative at the beginning of the 900th century and with his participation in the big ones Turin Exhibitions (1898 - 1902 - 1911), gained notoriety and appreciation to the point of receiving, between 1910 and 1932, 4 awards such as "Official Supplier of the Royal House" thanks to its quality and its spirit of innovation.

The 17 June 1916 Domenico Pepino sells his secrets and renowned business to Comm. Giuseppe for 10.000 Lire Cavagnino and to his father-in-law G. Feletti who at the beginning of 1929 move the exercise in Carignano square for strategic importance and representativeness of the place.
(Pepino is the only Caffè Storico in Turin still owned by the same family for 5 generations)

Subsequently, in the 1939, is patented and marketed on first ice cream covered on a stick in the world: “Pinguino” , which still enjoys its original reputation and quality.

Over the years, the offer of the Gelateria Pepino  it has greatly expanded becoming one of the references among the Historic Cafes and Savoy Salotti in Turin, reaching today to cover more moments of the day:
- breakfast (sweet and savory croissant, homemade cakes, international breakfast),
- morning break (sweet and savory morsels, healthy products, smoothies),
- lunch (menu with solutions of hot, cold, salads, first and second courses),
- snack (ice cream, dry and fresh pastries, sandwiches, toast),
- aperitif (wide choice of premium cocktails, vermouth and Piedmontese wines),
- after dinner (deep selection of spirits, bitters, digestives).

Upon reservation we also serve dinner with a traditional or international menu, as well as organizing tastings, refreshments and catering services for all kinds of corporate, private and anniversary events, always customized according to the customer's needs. Furthermore, there is the possibility to book ad hoc snacks, vertical tastings and to reserve the table at any time with a dedicated waiter.

In Gelateria Pepino  today the proposed service is sober, welcoming, present, modern and refined. The over 5 languages ​​spoken by the staff and the continuous professional updates allow you to have an attendance that ranges between all types of customers: families, couples, young people, seniors, groups, tourists, gourmets, business, etc.

The common goal is that all customers feel pampered and spend, alone or in company, quality time in the historic internal room or in the dehors in Piazza Carignano.
