Medieval village and fortress

Description

Overlooking the Po river and surrounded by the Valentino Park stands a open-air museum able to give a dream postcard to all its visitors.

Built on the occasion ofItalian General Exposition of 1884 the Village, a faithful reproduction born of the combination of buildings and furnishings of the fifteenth century characteristic of Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. After crossing the drawbridge, walking along the main road and looking up at the crenellated walls, it is easy to fantasize and find yourself catapulted into a bygone era.

La Roll, with a robust and solid air, stands out inside the Borgo. This stately home, fortified with sumptuous rooms typical of fifteenth-century castles, contrasts with the humble daily life of the Borgo.

Attentive visitors will be able to find the Garden "secret" of delights where the court spent its free time, surrounded by the intoxicating scent of roses, primroses, lilies and other plants typical of the medieval era. This is flanked by another garden with a pomegranate in the center, a symbol of life and prosperity, and some flower beds full of aromatic and medicinal herbs: welcome to Garden of "simple remedies".
