Mauto - Turin Automobile Museum

Description

È 1933 when Cesare Goria Gatti and Roberto Biscaretti di Ruffia create the first exhibition of historic cars on the left bank of the river Po. Subsequently, Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia, son of Roberto, gathers the initial collection and fights to obtain a seat for the vintage cars in order to give them the right luster.

Finally in 1960 the public can enter the seat of the National Automobile Museum, also known as MAUTO, designed by the architect Amedeo Albertini, which will be subsequently renovated and enlarged by the mind of the architect Cino Zucchi on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.

Il new route conceived by the set designer François Confino following the renovation of the museum guides visitors through a journey spread over three floors.

Over 200 original cars from 80 different brands and the history of the automobile with the songs of the Sixties in the background give emotions capable of recounting the transformation of a simple means of transport into a real cult object.
