MAO - Museum of oriental art

Description

In the frame of the historian Mazzonis Palace from the eighteenth century there is the Museum of Oriental Art, the MAO of Turin, created to create a space in which to get to know the culture of distant worlds.

Since 2008, spread over three floors of the gallery, you can admire the artistic collections of Asian origin the most interesting of Italy. 

South Asian and Southeast Asian art meets religious and secular works from Japan and the Himalayan Region. In addition, a collection of Islamic art alongside the most important collection of Chinese funerary art present in Italy from the Neolithic to the Tang period (XNUMXth century AD), together with suggestive Japanese gardens and temporary exhibitions. 

It is the heterogeneity of the works that allows visitors to get in touch with the culture distant.
