National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento

Description

Since 1938 within Carignano Palace, a historic building of Baroque architecture in the center of Turin, houses the works of the National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento. 

The exhibition path houses collections dedicated to the period of the Risorgimento and is theunique which boasts the national title thanks to the richness and representativeness of its collections. 

From the rearrangement of 2011 a modern space was born, in which the historical period is told from the European point of view, dealing with the great revolutions of the eighteenth century in order to involve the public in a historical journey. 

In addition to the exhibitions and the world-famous library, there are two original parliamentary halls: the Chamber of Deputies of the Subalpine Parliament, still with the original furnishings of 1860, and the classroom intended for the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Italy.
