Stupinigi hunting lodge

Description

In Stupinigi, exactly 10 km as the crow flies from Piazza Castello in Turin, is the Savoy Residence for Hunting and Festivals.

Created starting from a project by Filippo Juvarra in 1729 and completed at the end of  XVIII century by various architects including Benedetto Alfieri, Giovanni Tommaso Prunotto, and Ignazio Bertola, is one of the most extraordinary complexes dating back to the European eighteenth century.

Visitors are welcomed in what was born as a leisure residence where to practice hunting in the years of the Savoy court, which later became the residence where the peculiar luxury and refinement of the place made it possible to organize parties and weddings during the  XVIII and XIX century. This architectural jewel had also been chosen by Napoleon in the early nineteenth century and had been the residence of Queen Margherita.

Witness of the international rococo of European royal residences, the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi is ready to amaze all its visitors.
